What a day.

I've been sick with a sore throat for the past 3 days. And on top of that, my back has been hurting worse than ever. Today, my lower back & tail bone were hurting so bad that it was literally BURNING. It hurt when I laid down, when I was sitting, when I was standing & it was so painful to even walk. I took a darvocet & once it kicked in, I swept my floors. lol. The floors in my house were looking pitiful. I wish I knew why my back hurts so bad all the time. I started crying today because I don't want to be one of those old women who are always in pain and can't enjoy life. Hi, I exaggerate sometimes. :/

This morning, since I was sick & hurting so bad, Bailey did the grocery shopping and took Maddox with him while I took a nap for about an hour and a half.
I woke up to the sound of Maddox screaming crying in the living room. I jumped out of bed immediately because it was definitely the sound of him HURT-crying.. not just whiny-crying.
It turns out that when they got home, Bailey was unloading groceries & Maddox was playing in the yard & went to get in his little Cozy Coupe car & as soon as he got in, he was stung by a wasp on his knee. :[
POOR BABY. Wasp stings are so painful!
I put hydrocortisone on it right away & I gave him Benadryl because he normally has pretty bad reactions to insect bites so I was afraid of how he would react to a wasp sting. Then I got online and started reading all about how to treat a sting.
We put a baking soda & water paste on it & then bandaged it & then I cuddled my baby.
He got up shortly afterwards and played with his trains for a bit & then crawled in the recliner with me and fell asleep around his normal nap time.
Since he woke up, he has hardly been bothered by the sting. Thank goodness!

Here he is covered in his supper & sporting a Cars band-aid which he was pretty pleased about.

Bailey went outside later and checked out the Cozy Coupe. Maddox hasn't played in it in a few days and it IS summertime in Georgia.. so there was a big wasp nest RIGHT where his knee would be when he is in the car.
So he borrowed some wasp & hornet killer or whatever from next door and destroyed those bitches. Then he hosed it down so it would be safe for Maddox to play in again.
Needless to say, we will be checking for angry insects regularly from now on.

There's the damn thing looking all ashamed [or not] after Bailey destroyed the predators.

Other than all that, I spent a few hours tonite with April on her couch watching reruns of RuPaul's Drag Race. I love seeing my babydoll Jaycen aka: Sonique on TV. It's so weird!
